A lash technician is someone who, for the most part, attaches semi-permanent false lashes to their client’s natural lashes. They are designed to increase the volume of an individual’s natural eyelashes for weeks or even months, though they are often only applied for special occasions.

What does an eyelash extension technician do?
Because of the sensitivity of the eye area, technicians have to be both aware and precise with their lash lift, conforming to the safety and hygiene regulations in their area. When applying eyelash extensions, the technician should advise their client of the protocol, like the removal of eye makeup, and how to maintain their extension after the appointment. This depends on the set of lashes a client chooses; a full set can last up to a year if you get a refill every three or four weeks, while a half set doesn’t last as long but are much cheaper and can thicken your lashes just as well as a full set. Many lash stylists are often required to do other jobs in a beauty salon, such as eyebrow tinting, manicures, pedicures and nail art, which is why they not only complete a course on eyelash extensions but in other areas of beauty as well, such as beauty therapy.
What is the average salary for an eyelash?
The average salary is an eyelash extension technician is $59,515 per annum.
How do you become an eyelash extension technician in Australia?
The position doesn’t require a university degree, but technicians do need to get adequate training to apply the lash glue for each different type of extension along with removing them.
